Database Administrator (senior)

• Administer, maintain, and optimize MS SQL Server and PostgreSQL databases across development, test, and production environments.
• Design, implement, and manage database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.
• Monitor database performance and troubleshoot performance issues, applying necessary tuning and optimization.
• Implement and maintain database security standards, ensuring data integrity and compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements.
• Perform database migrations, upgrades, and patch management.
• Plan and execute capacity planning for storage, compute resources, and scalability of databases.
• Automate routine database management tasks using scripting languages
• Document database processes, procedures, and best practices.
• Stay updated on the latest features and advancements in MS SQL Server and PostgreSQL to recommend and implement improvements.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field is a plus.
• 5+ years of experience managing MS SQL Server and/or PostgreSQL in enterprise environments.
• Strong knowledge of database architecture, indexing, partitioning, and performance tuning.
• Proficiency in implementing high-availability solutions (e.g., AlwaysOn, replication, clustering) and disaster recovery strategies.
• Deep understanding of query execution plans and strategies for optimization.
• Hands-on experience with database encryption, auditing, and user access control.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Advanced communication and documentation skills.
• Familiarity with NoSQL databases is a plus.
