Software Engineer – Smart Gas Systems

The Software Engineer provides L3 expert-level support for Smart Gas AMI applications and integrations, ensuring availability, performance, security, and end-to-end data integrity across HES, MDMS, AMI Portal, APIs, dashboards, and enterprise integrations. This role serves as the primary technical escalation point for Azerigaz regarding application, data, and integration matters, ensuring SLA compliance, system stability, and billing-grade data accuracy throughout the 10+3 Year O&M lifecycle.

Application & Platform Support (L3 Ownership):

• Provide L3 support for HES, MDMS, AMI Portal, analytics platforms, dashboards, and integration services.
• Monitor schedulers, background jobs, APIs, middleware, databases, and data pipelines.
• Ensure system uptime, availability, and performance compliance in accordance with SLA targets.
• Support incident classification (Critical / High / Medium / Low) and resolution within defined SLA timelines.
• Provide technical clarification and structured explanations to Azerigaz IT / AMI teams during incidents.

Integration & End-to-End Data Flow Management

• Support and maintain integration with billing systems and workforce management
• Monitor API/ESB latency, failures, retry storms, and message queues.
• Validate complete device → HES → MDMS → Portal → Billing data flow.
• Coordination with Azerigaz IT teams for changes, deployment windows, integration approvals, change validation

Requirements:

•  Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or Information Technology.
•  4 + years of experience in AMI / Smart Metering systems, enterprise application support, or Gas / Utility systems (preferred). Experience working in SLA-driven production environments.
•  Strong knowledge of APIs (REST / SOAP), Middleware / ESB, Databases (SQL), log analysis & monitoring tools, and MDMS / HES systems. Understanding of AMI ecosystem architecture. Experience with production support & release cycles.
•  Strong troubleshooting capability, excellent cross-team coordination skills, structured communication with technical & business stakeholders, and the ability to present RCA and system explanations clearly.
• Fluent in Azerbaijani and English (written and spoken); Russian proficiency is desirable.
